I’m just a wimp who’s been spoiled by optical mouses, though. But if the thing works in the first place, it should keep working perfectly well. Which is why optical is the only choice, if you want a tiny mouse that actually works.
Anyway, there are various other colour and plug permutations. The shape of the Super Mini Mouse may be rather uninspired, but it’s not actively user-hostile.
